I visited Samburu Friends Mission from February 14 to March 5 of 2018, and I fell in love with the people I met there – with their faith, their hospitality, their joy, and their resilience.
Samburu Friends Mission, in Kenya, is run by Samburu Quakers for the people of their community. It includes nine churches, several preschools, one primary school, an evening school for children who are professional shepherds, a dispensary, and peace work.
I did not visit with the intent to make a video, and in fact, that was not what I spent the majority of my time doing there. But when I got home, I found I had enough footage to tell this story, and it is certainly a story worth sharing.
Here’s a set of discussion questions from Friends United Meeting to go along with the video.
